Psalm 18:1-3 I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
As we pray we go deeper into God, becoming immersed in His love. We sense the depths of His heart and we are changed and in turn the way we pray also changes. We are lovers of Him, and lovers of His Word. So, who is He? The word makes it clear that He is love, and in his love He is so much more. Many times, the insights of King David found in the Psalms become doorways into Father revealing more of Himself to our hearts. May you receive a little more through Psalm 18:1-3.
It is clear that David saw into many facets of Almighty God. In just three verses he expresses his love for the God who; is his strength, rock, fortress, deliverer, place of trust, shield, horn of salvation, and stronghold. As David acknowledges the depths of who the Father is, it becomes an easy transition for him to declare “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”
So let us follow the trail of those who like David who have gone before us. May we come into His presence with a heart of faith being greatly encouraged that our Father desires to reveal Himself to us, to provide us with what we need, and to lead us in praying His purposes into the earth in ways we have not yet imagined, because that is who He is, and that is what He does, and so much more…
