Fidelity Month is a national movement that was originally started by Princeton Professor Robert P. George and has even been recognized by US Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. The goal of this movement is to celebrate and restore honor to “the importance of fidelity to God, our spouses and families, our country, and our communities.” Learn more at fidelitymonth.com.
Why is celebrating marriage and faithfulness so important? Marriage is an enduring, sacred covenant between God, one man, and one woman. It deserves to be celebrated and held in the highest honor. As Jesus taught in Matthew 19:4-6, a couple united in holy matrimony is united by no less than God Himself. During a wedding ceremony, when a man and woman exchange their vows, they make a promise before God and men to love, honor, and cherish their spouse every moment of their life, regardless of circumstance (in sickness, health, poverty, or wealth). Marriage only works as God intended it to when both the husband and wife enter into this covenant with their eyes on the Lord. Without strong, Christ-centered marriages, families and societies crumble. The Church must lead the way in restoring honor to this foundational relationship.

5 Ways to Plan your Fidelity Month Celebration:
Talk With Your Church Leadership about Teaching about God’s Good Design: If you are a pastor, make sure that your congregation understands God’s good design for the sacred covenant of marriage between one man, one woman, and their God. Teach about the blessings on honor’s God’s good design and how this model is foundational in God’s design for society. Consider a sermon series or special Bible study for couples to strengthen their marriages by growing closer to the Lord. If you are a parent, teach your children about God’s good design for marriage and the family in a way that is age-appropriate. Share stories and personal testimonies with your children about what God has taught you and your spouse through your own Christ-centered marriage. Be encouraged as you live this testimony daily. Celebrate God’s Good Design in Your Congregation and Community: Share your own testimony about God’s good design publicly via social media and other platforms the Lord has given you. Ask your friends or church congregation to join you and share a picture from their own weddings and celebrate their marriage on social media during Fidelity Month. Consider turning the activity into a fun contest. Ask your church hold a testimony night focused on how God has used the covenant of marriage for sanctification & blessing, where couples can share stories and celebrate what God has done! These are just ideas, but pray about how you can share about the goodness of God and honor His eternal truth during the month of June.
Raise Awareness & Seek Recognition: Ask public officials and governing bodies to recognize Fidelity Month through an official resolution. Use press releases & invite local media to raise awareness.
Honor Your Own Relationships: Prayerfully sow into your own relationship with God, your own marriage and family, and your service to your community and country during Fidelity Month.
Use the Art & Hashtags: Help truth trend in the culture by using the #FidelityMonth hashtag, or other pro-faith, pro-sanctity of marriage hash tags. The more we all use these hashtags, the louder voices of honor and fidelity will be on social media and other digital platforms.
