
Political Islam
Few concern themselves with the slow growth a radical ideology that seeks the annihilation of Judeo-Christian thought and biblically-informed good governance. This radical ideology is none other than Islam, in its most politicized and militant form.

While many people of Abrahamic Faiths are preoccupied by headlines in the culture wars, few concern themselves with the slow growth a radical ideology that seeks the annihilation of Judeo-Christian thought and biblically-informed good governance. This radical ideology is none other than Islam, in its most politicized and militant form. There are fundamental differences between a biblical worldview and the worldview advanced by Islam. The Bible speaks of a loving God who is our Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer and teaches salvation based not by works, but through grace by faith in Jesus Christ. The sacred texts of Islam (which means “to submit”) teach that Al Lah is “to be feared”, that some people are to be hated and destroyed, and that any hope of heaven rests in one’s works. Where Jesus brought the Gospel of Peace, Political Islam brings a message of conquest, without tolerance of other belief systems. This should be an issue of great concern for Christian people in America and around the world because of the steady growth of Islamic influence.
Immigrants from Muslim countries are moving in increasingly greater numbers to Europe and the Americas, many with the specific purpose of extending the “Abode of Islam.” For example, Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a Sunni Muslim cleric and head of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, is quoted as saying:
Islam entered Europe twice and left it… Perhaps the next conquest, Allah willing, will be by means of preaching and ideology. The conquest need not necessarily be by the sword… Perhaps we will conquer these lands without armies. We want an army of preachers and teachers who will present Islam in all languages and in all dialects. 1Quoted in The Islamisation of the West by Dr Patrick Sookhdeo (2010).
Likewise, Omar M. Ahmad, Chairman of the Council for American Islamic Relations has said, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran … should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.” 2Quoted in, John Griffing, Islamocracy (American Thinker – January 14, 2010). Similarly, Anjem Choudary, Head of Islam4UK, states: “Our objectives are to invite the societies in which we live to think about Islam as an alternative way of life … and ultimately, as well, to establish the Shariah on state level.” 3(MEMRI TV Project, Press TV Iran – Feb. 3, 2010) available on UTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne7z-_RXWeA This goal of governmental establishment is clearly incompatible with religious liberty protections under the First Amendment, which states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”
With the patient planting of new Islamic enclaves throughout the West, the process of establishing the parallel society and political system has begun. Those behind this process seem willing to master an understanding of the occupied country’s government and legal system, systematically dismantling it while building the framework for an Islamic theocracy as its replacement. Such a replacement, when complete, dogmatically declares a different kind of absolute than the self-evident Truths, which undergird the American constitution and the values of our justice system.
Scripture directly informs these values. Jeremiah 22:3 commands that earthly government to “Do justice and righteousness”, which the ESV Study Bible elaborates on:
“The king and those with him are not to use their power for personal advantage, but are to rule in justice and righteousness. “Justice” (Hb. mishpat) means making right decisions according to God’s commands and case laws. “Righteousness” (Hb. tsedaqah) means what is correct according to God’s norms and moral standards (cf. 4:2; 9:24).”
As a nation founded on Judeo-Christian values, it is all the more important that our courts do not trade standards based on God’s commands, norms, and moral standards for legal standards based on different values systems. Since our most basic civil liberties come from God (i.e. “Creator-Endowed Rights”), removing His standards protecting those liberties will inevitably result in liberty being lost.
Contending for our faith and preserving God-given liberties begins with recognizing and understanding the dangers of this radical ideology. The resources on this page are designed to aid Christian people in that pursuit.
