Let’s Not Abandon Our Nigerian Brothers and Sisters Facing Persecution

Prior to his appointment at the WFFC, Prof. Wagner served as the Senior Advisor to the U.S. State Department for global criminal justice (the part of the U.S. government overseeing the worst atrocities in the world). While there, the US. State Department designated Nigeria a country of particular concern (CPC) due to chronic human rights abuses related to religious conscience (e.g., kidnappings of school children; forced displacement of Christian families, etc). That designation, which triggers increased international scrutiny, was removed in 2020, even as human rights abuses seemed to increase. Here is the latest from the Christian Post:
