Presence, Presence, Presence!
Psalm 91 1-3Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you…
Matthew 11:29-30 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
If you are a person of prayer, it is even more important that you are a person of presence. A good picture is that of a light bulb shining in the night. The bulb when plugged into a socket gives off light, but apart from being plugged in and receiving continuous power the bulb has no ability to produce anything. Likewise we are our Father’s light before men and the more we are continuously filled with His Spirit the more people will be able to recognize Jesus in us and be touched by His presence!
As we pray we need time where we simply abide in Him. We can bring the things that we are praying about before Him and lay them at His feet. I know for myself that when I’m engaged in doer mode it becomes easier and easier to just keep doing and sometimes it’s necessary to force a stop, just stop, and wait on Him. In His presence we lay aside our feeling of “we must do it”, and are renewed in knowing that He is almighty, and He will do it. Praying “your kingdom come, your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven” becomes filled with the expectation that yes He will, and yes He is. As we abide in His presence we enter into the divine strategies of Heaven where the Holy Spirit will give us insight into pieces of how His purposes will be accomplished in the earth. As we are His co-laborers we get to believe it, pray it, and walk in it. Can you feel the excitement being renewed in your spirit?
One of my main goals in writing these regular emails of encouragement is that YOU actually become encouraged! Intercessory burn out can be avoided as we stop and wait on Him, So let’s embrace the promise of Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is!
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Romans 8; 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Saturday night I was praying with my grandson and the Holy Spirit lead us to declare “Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.” It was very powerful moment which lead to some interesting conversation on what liberty is and what is isn’t. I am going to be praying this over my sons and their families and likewise for our nation.
It’s amazing how a single scripture can open up so much that we need to remember and even participate in releasing through prayer and declaration. What is true liberty? Brothers and sisters we recognize that liberty is not the current philosophy of “I can do whatever I want as long as I don’t hurt someone else.” The core of biblical liberty is to love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. In order for that to have any possibility of working we need the Spirit of the Lord! Where the Spirit of the Lord is, the liberty that is released, reinforces the freedom we have been given through salvation and helps us- His people to abide in a place of liberty!
Walking in the Spirit also helps in our walk as sons and daughters of the most high. We are His kids and as we live and move and pray we are releasers of the Spirit that has been so wonderfully given to us. Holy Spirit our amazing friend on the journey, leading us to do what pleases the Father. The Spirit of the Lord we are carrying and releasing changes the atmosphere, and will de-toxify the current toxic atmosphere over our nation. We cry out, pour out your Spirit Lord, pour it out, because where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty!

The Prayer of Washington!
Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Deuteronomy 8:11-14 Take care lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, 12 lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, 13 and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied,14 then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery
Some people really like history, and I must confess that I’m one of them. This doesn’t mean that I’m a great student of history, but I find historical things interesting, especially if they cause me to see something that will help with perspective and possibly recognize mistakes that could be avoided in the future.
It is well documented that George Washington was a man of prayer, and kept a journal of his prayers that have been published. The following prayer is from a circular sent to the states upon his retirement as commander in chief of the continental army. This retirement was short lived as he soon returned to public life as the 1st president of the U.S. “I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have the United States in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the Characteristicks of the Devine Author of our blessed Religion, and without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation. Amen”
As we complete the celebration of the birth of our nation I stand with our first president in his admonition and prayer for the country, emphasizing a few points that can be taken from this prayer 1. Divine Protection 2. Submission to good civil authority which causes us to cry out for our leaders and that our citizens would honor and submit to good authority. 3. Brotherly love and affection, especially for those who have defended the country. 4. Do justice and love mercy

The Father Loves You!
Ephesians 3:18-20 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing
John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
It’s good to be reminded how much our Father loves us, and how much he loves every man woman and child now alive and who ever lived on this Earth. God is LOVE! We hear it, but do our hearts really know it? I believe the Father wants to blast us over and over again with His love so that we are filled to overflowing with LOVE! In the 60’s the famous composer Burt Bacharach wrote the song called “what the world needs now”. The first line of the song goes “What the world needs now is love sweet love, it’s the only thing that there’s just too little of.” Maybe as you read the words you are softly singing the line to yourself?
Anyway, every human heart is in need of love and especially the deepest love of all-which is the love of the Father. Mr. Bacharach was correct that what the world needs is love. The missing link in the song is that really there is no shortage of supply; the problem is the delivery of what Father desires to send. It is really important that as His children and His partners in prayer that we are “fixing our eyes on Jesus the author and perfector of our faith” Faith is the delivery system for the greater release of love into our hearts and into the world. We cannot give what we don’t have so as we abide in Him our love tank is filled, over and over and over… May the first thing that touches people when we meet them be love. In other words may we be love, because what this world needs now is love sweet love, it’s the one thing we need to give more and more of! The Father Loves you, and we know He loves this fallen world (John 3:16).

- Lord help us to be truly spiritually violent. May the LOVE of the Father burn in our hearts! Let us boldly seek His face day or night that His kingdom would come and His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven!

The Night Watch
Mark 1:35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a [a]solitary place; and there He prayed.
Isaiah 62:2 On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD shall take no rest for yourselves,
Habakkuk 2:1 I will stand on my guard post And station myself on the rampart; And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, And how I may reply when I am reproved.
Psalm 119:147-148 I rise before the dawning of the morning, And cry for help; I hope in Your word. My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word.
Psalm 139:12 Indeed, the
darkness [a]shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the
light are both alike to You.
It has been my experience for some time now that there are times when sleep is interrupted and it is simply time to pray or seek my Father. Usually this has occurred in the time of the 4th watch or approximately 3-6 a.m. Maybe you the reader have also been experiencing something similar? Personally I have seen this both as a practical awakening to early morning prayer as well as a larger prodding from the Lord that it is time to WAKE UP!!!
In biblical times the day was broken into 8 watches, four during the day and four in the night. The 1st watch occurs from 6-9 in the evening, the second 9-12, the third 12-3, and the fourth is from 3-6. I believe there are some people who are experiencing a call, or are being drawn to prayer in the night watch. All of at some point are going to experience prayer in the night. It may be also that the Lord will bring us into prayer in the night for a season and then us transition back to day time prayer. Whatever the tugging in your spirit at the moment, do what He is saying! As Jesus is our example in all things, let us do the things that He did, which included rising a long time before daylight and going to a solitary place to pray.
He is Lord of the day and He is Lord of the night. He rules 24/7 and we are being prepared to rule with Him. This is our time of preparation and we are being prepared to overcome darkness. The night watch is the time for us to stand guard in the hours when darkness seems to be shielding the works of evil. As we pray we are engaged in the battle. Our job may be simply to declare His word. We worship, we shout, we exult Him. We stand on the wall and are ready to go into action at the prompting of the Spirit! Arise, shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen on you (Isaiah 60:1). As we pray in the night we stand together with the Lord of hosts engaging His word and declaring His rule over all things, and that He has come to destroy the deeds of darkness.
The night watch also frees us from distractions and causes our attention to be totally fixed on Him. We sacrifice some sleep, but the intimacy and focus on our Lord more than makes up for it. Simply put, things happen in the night watch that don’t happen at other times.

From Then Until Now
Matthew 12:11 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
From then until now our Father is searching for those who seek Him wholeheartedly. Spiritual violence is the desire for our hearts to be so set on fire that we seek His kingdom and His righteousness, pressing in to Him, and seeking His answers until we know we have found them. The Lord is in the process of deepening hunger in our hearts, and allowing us to be dissatisfied with our current spiritual condition. We know there is much more in heart towards us and toward the spiritual conditions of the day. Oh Father we are after your heart!
So, how do we practically engage in being spiritually violent? Here are a few suggestions that will help us draw in more deeply: 1. In Luke 10:38-42 Jesus is visiting his good friends Mary and Martha. We see in the account that Martha is in a hospitality tizzy making sure that all of the important stuff is taken care of. Meanwhile sister Mary is sitting at Jesus feet receiving from Him and we are told that Mary “has chosen the better thing and it won’t be taken from her. Some times spiritual violence is turning away from the endless activity to sit at His feet and really receive what we need! 2. Fasting-is an important ingredient. Personally I have found when I am physically hungry I’m spiritually hungry. Fasting is an important way for us to set aside the noise of our flesh and press into His presence and receive what our spirit man needs-more and more and more of Jesus and Holy Spirit! (Also see Isaiah 58) 3. Word feast: A number of years ago the Lord told me to not read His word, but to eat His word. In John 4:31-38 the disciples are encouraging Jesus to eat. He states clearly that He has “food to eat that you nothing about”. His food is to do the will of the Father. May we like wise gain the spiritual nutrition we so badly need and to enjoy the food of doing the will of the Father. There is much more in this passage we can benefit from and please spend some time eating it!

The Layman’s Revival (1857-1858)
Isaiah 64:1- Oh,
that You would [a]rend the
heavens! That You would come down!
That the mountains might shake
at Your presence—As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to
boil To make Your name known to Your
adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
In 1857 the attendance at Sunday church meetings was in decline, and many Americans were disillusioned with Christianity. Does this sound eerily similar to the present day? In New York City a layman by the name of Jerimiah Lanphier distributed leaflets calling business people to prayer during the noon hour. The first meeting on September 23, 1857 was attended by only 6 people, yet scripture is clear that “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of you”. The meeting was repeated the following Wednesday and attendance grew to 20, and the following Wednesday to 40. Following the third meeting Mr. Lanphier determined that the meeting should take place on a daily basis in a larger room. That very week—on Wednesday, October 14— the nation was staggered by the worst financial panic in its history. Banks closed, men were out of work, and families went hungry. The spiritual hunger that was beginning to develop now came forth with depth and urgency and the “Fulton Street Prayer Meeting” grew to over 3000 praying daily.
Within 6 months 10,000 (out of an approximate population of 800,000) businessmen were meeting daily in New York City for prayer. The major newspapers began reporting about the prayer meetings and in many places of businesses were allowing workers to leave early for lunch so they could travel to the various meeting places designated for prayer. Newspaper accounts were filled with many accounts of the extraordinary awakening now taking place in the city and the influence of prayer began to spread across the nation and even to other countries. The mark of this amazing move of God is that there were no high profile leaders at the forefront, but the revival was being stirred in the hearts of many and was truly a lay person lead movement.
The testimonies and daily working of the Father that came forth in this move of God were amazing and deeply impacted individuals, families and even entire communities. The New York Observer published a report from Waco, Texas of a mighty moving of God. “Day and night the church has been crowded during the meeting…Never before in Texas have we seen a whole community so effectually under a religious influence…thoroughly regenerated.” In 1858 in Louisville, Kentucky 1,000 attended the daily union prayer. One writer exclaimed, “The spirit of God seems to be brooding over our city, and to have produced an unusual degree of tenderness and solemnity in all classes.” An amazing work of grace was changing the city.
Today as we pray, let the fire of God increase in our hearts. As in the season of the laymen’s revival let us be confident that where two or three are gathered together in His name, I am there in your midst.” May your heart be encouraged by this brief picture of revival. Come Lord!

Inside Out, Upside Down!
1 Corinthians 1:27-29But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.
Matthew 23:12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
The kingdom of God is like… Jesus used this phrase when communicating truth to those to whom he was teaching. As we look into the word we see what the kingdom is like and also many insights as to how it operates which is pretty much the opposite of the way the everyday world operates. The kingdom of God is inside out, upside down and operates with strength and insight the temporal world does not recognize. As we pray we need to be engaged with the unseen modes and methods. Raw power, arrogance, pride, and the mistreatment of the innocent are all too apparent as we view the daily landscape. Be clear that these expressions of life are in mostly in opposition to the heavenly Father and are opposed by him, and will be overcome as we pray and seek Him.
The church of Jesus Christ looks weak, powerless, and outdated in the eyes of the world. For the most part believing people are ignored, disparaged, and increasingly persecuted. Not to worry as we operate in a secret place under the authority and presence of an invisible God who has Chosen what seems to be foolish to shame the wise, and what seems to be weak to shame the things that are mighty. Additionally as we declare in faith the unseen things we are bringing to nothing the things that are in opposition to His kingdom. Is it surprising that God has chosen a man in President Trump that the world works over time to despise, disparage, and is concentrated on destroying, to implement many things that have been of great benefit to those who are not powerful, wise, and often ignored?
So the purpose of this brief message of is simply that we may not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. As we humble ourselves and pray, allowing ourselves to live in a place of weakness we are operating in the place where the Father promises to release His strength and His remedies for a lost world. If the task seems too big or beyond hope we need to be reminded that greater is He who in in us than He who is in the world, and we fix our eyes on Him! Finally, most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me! Thank you Lord that you are a never ending source for all that we need!

Decree!
Job 22:28 You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.
Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, Your word [is settled in heaven.
Psalm 103:20 Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.
Luke 10:19-20 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
Esther 8:8 Now write another decree in the king’s name in behalf of the Jews as seems best to you, and seal it with the king’s signet ring—for no document written in the king’s name and sealed with his ring can be revoked.”
Decree:a statement of truth that carries the authority of a court order. Decrees are a tool by which we cause the truths of the heavenly realm to become manifest into the natural realm so they become our daily reality. We decree healing when we are sick. We decree provision and abundance when we are lacking. We decree peace when there is turmoil. Decrees are a tool to fulfill Matthew 6:10: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” (KJV). Decrees manifest heaven on earth!
As sons and daughters of the living God we have been given authority. We exercise that authority as we pray. We seek Him because He is our loving Father and in Him are all of the answers. We cry out to Him as we see the waywardness of the world in which we live. As we live and walk on the earth we are living conduits of your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the midst of crazy life we declare and decree His word.
As the word is alive and burning in us we declare it. We know that the word the Father has sent will not return to Him without performing that for which is it was sent. We cooperate with the effectiveness and power of His word as we declare and decree. Abiding in Him we sense the objective and release the word. A few years ago we meet a senior intercessor whose life had taken a difficult turn, and so for a season we became an important part of her family. She relayed to us the story of how a massage parlor (front for prostitution) was attempting to open in the little town near where we lived. As soon as she caught wind of the business she began making daily trips to Main Street where she placed her hand on the door of their future location, decreeing the business closed. She did this for a number of weeks and the business never opened! Soon any sign of the future massage parlor disappeared.
The authority has been given to us and it is time for the word to be declared and decreed over the U.S., over local government, and as the antidote to lawlessness, drugs, death, abortion and in all other areas. Today is the day and now is the time!

The Tuff Stuff!
John 8:1-11 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Now [a]early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher,]this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now [c]Moses, in the law, commanded us [d]that such should be stoned. But what do You [e]say?” 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, [f]as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He [g]raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first. ”And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, beingconvicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up [i]and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord. ”And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go [k]and sin no more.”
In 1968 an obscure band by the name of “The Street People” released a song that actually got some significant air play called “Jennifer Tompkins”. At this writing I can’t actually remember the song beyond the chorus which contains the following lyrics:
Oh, I swear, just ain’t fair
Trouble, trouble everywhere
Oh Lord, come on down
Got to spread some love around
In 2019 the song is even more prophetic in describing the times in which we live than it was when initially released. Intercessors arise, watchmen be faithful to your place on the walls! Where sin abounds the Father’s desire is that grace abound much more. Abortion, homosexuality, corruption, epidemic drug use, violence, lawlessness and the list goes on, how do we pray? What do we do with the tough stuff?
In John chapter 8 we see the account of the woman caught in the act of adultery. The response of our Lord to the attempt of the Pharisees and the scribes to discredit him gives us a deep look into the heart of the Father. First let’s look at what Jesus didn’t do which includes, no accusation, no picking up of rocks, and no condemnation. Instead what did He do? He wrote unknown words in the sand and gave the accusers a chance to vent. As they continued to press him he turned the sin problem back to them and challenged whoever was without sin to throw the first stone. Conviction began to well up in the hearts of the accusers and one by one they withdrew from the woman. Throughout the encounter Jesus stayed with the woman, remaining with one who needed forgiveness. Finally, he asked the woman where her accusers were, and has no one condemned you? When she replied “no one Lord”, he stated that neither did he condemn her and to go and sin no more.
This passage of scripture begins with, but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives, where we know from the word he often spend the night in prayer. As He was in close heart to heart communion with His Father it seems likely that the Father may have revealed the early morning encounter, but whether Jesus foresaw what was about to take place it is clear that His heart was totally full of the Father’s heart towards this woman. Bingo, this is so needed as we pray! We must have our hearts softened by our encounters with the Father so we not only cooperate with praying His will, but we also cooperate with praying with His heart. Not validating the sin, but extending the same mercy to the sinner that we needed when the Father picked us up out of our brokenness and changed our path of destruction to the eternal road of His plans destiny. May we receive more of His heart in every way so we are ready for encountering the tough stuff!

Big God!
Revelation 19:6-8 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the[d] Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Psalm 99:1-3 The Lord reigns; Let the peoples tremble! He dwells between the cherubim; Let the earth be [a]moved! The Lord is great in Zion, And He is high above all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awesome name—]He is holy.
When our Father seems too small it is time to worship Him. Many of us over the years have praised the Lord with many different songs. An old favorite of mine is “Be Magnified” The words to this song by Don Moen are as follows:
I have made you too small, in my eyes
O Lord, forgive me
And I’ve believed in a lie
That you were unable to help me.
But now O Lord, I see my wrong
Heal my heart and show yourself strong
And in my eyes, and with my song
O Lord, be magnified

And there is nothing you can’t do

Worship brings us into God’s presence and the greatness of who he is. As we rest in this place we are renewed in who He is. We are re-established in the knowledge that He is in control. Each day seems to be a noisy confrontation between what is good – something we should affirm and what is evil, worthless – to be set aside. The intensity of it can be disheartening, but in His presence there is fullness of joy, and we need to have our joy and delight in serving Him renewed. Hanging around in His presence helps us to know He is a big God and nothing is out of His view or His control.
As we worship we are also declaring His word into the heavenlies, and into situations that we may not see clearly, or even recognize at all. Worship opens our hearts and softness the ground so that we are more tender and able to hear Him speak. It is place where faith is heard, received, and established in our hearts. He is a big God who wants to give us breakthrough. Yes, His glorious breakthrough in the difficult areas of life, breakthrough and revelation of who He is in every mountain of society. He is God and He is really, really BIG!

Build the Wall part II
Ezekiel 22:30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
Isaiah 53:15 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Walls hold in, they preserve, and walls hold out things that are not desired in an area that is being protected. The walls we are building are doing both. We are declaring hedges of protection for our nation and for the people who lives within the physical territory that makes up the United States. Our intercession is building and will exceed the forces of evil from without that desire to exert negative influence and/or even bring destruction on the nation. The walls of intercession also rise up and are strengthening in the hour where as it says in Jonah 4:11 “people who cannot tell their right hand from their left.” We stand in a place of crying out for mercy as people within the walls foolishly pursue evil and oppose God. This will cause us at times to feel we are down in the mud actually forming the bricks being added to the wall. Sin will cause us to grieve and even groan in pain as we bow before the one who patiently waits for us to call upon Him for help!
Simultaneously we have a great intercessor who is continually making intercession on our behalf. We remember and declare His GREAT mercy! Even as He poured out His life, He interceded for all mankind “forgive them Father for they know not what they do”, and His very blood continually cries out mercy! We plead the blood as we look to Him for mercy and the power of the good news to again be released into hearts prepared to receive the gift of eternal life. We do not lose heart! We do not give up! We keep our eyes continually on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The needs in this hour are great, yet the power available to do the work is much greater than we yet know!

Build the Wall!
Hebrews 11:1-3 Now faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Zechariah 2:5 For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”
By faith we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. At this writing there is great disturbance and unrest in the nation concerning building a wall. Is it possible that in the unseen there is also disturbance, stirrings, activity and things are not at rest? Is it possible in the midst of the war of words, that there are words that are to be spoken, but not words that tear down, but words that build up? Is it probable in the midst of arguing over a natural wall there is indeed a wall to built? Is it likely that the wall has been under construction for some time and that you and I and many others are the builders? Maybe at this moment you are thinking wow, so many questions. and so, to simplify things and in response to all of the above the answer is simply yes! This is another moment when ae eyes must be focused in the spirit and much less on the natural.
There is a wall to be built in the spirit and also in the natural. I will not be developing reasons for the natural wall. Let’s focus on the unseen wall. 1. The prayer wall around the United States must become more robust and become a source of great protection as the spirit shifts and we begin to see the answer for our cries before the Lord of 2 Chronicles 7:14. I have heard it said that 2019 is the year of the “watchman”. Let’s take that proclamation to heart and be more diligent standing watch on the wall. 2. As the wall is strengthened in the spirit and grows in height our discernment and vison will also grow. As watchman we will become more sensitive and quick to respond in a crisis, and even better before the crisis ever happens. 3. The wall of truth must be strengthened and truth declared continually over the nation as the false, deceptive and perverse are being exalted. In the spirit we are the bold declarers of the truth, and when the truth encounters the false, the false will wilt. Behind the scenes we are also praying for the hearts and minds of all people who are being slimed and deceived by the phony narratives. 4. The wall contains eternal truth and principles. Anywhere that false principles are being promoted the wall must be strengthened. The strength of the prayer wall must impact the life that is protected and taking place within the safety of the wall. Media, government, and all areas of life will be impacted by the prayer of faithful watchman diligently serving at the wall, and more and more the Almighty will himself permeate the atmosphere!

Lamentations 3:22-24 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
Psalm 103: 1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
W elcome to the New Year! Thank you Lord that each day we get a new start, and the New Year also marks a time for making new beginnings. It is time to throw away any trash we may have accumulated by the end of 2018 and to submit our lives completely to the one who is able to cleanse redeem, and restore us. The good news as we make a new beginning is that our Father never changes. The season my change, the opinions and whims of people may change, but our Father changes not.
In the transition from the old into the new let’s trust that the Lord it able to completely re-new our hearts. He is ready to pour out new wine and He will make us new wine skins to receive ALL that He is releasing. (Mark 2:19-22). Now is the time to be renewed! Probably some of you have already been spending extra time sitting at Jesus feet. It is likely that you may also be receiving specific revelation and instructions for prayer in this New Year. Absolutely listen and obey whatever He is saying, but also allow your self adequate time to let the newness that He desires to fill us with be released into your inner man. Allow the Lord to completely power wash away disappointment, discouragement, disillusionment, and any hurts. It’s time to have your bible open in His presence and He will faithfully to pour in new fuel, fresh oil, and heavenly fire, or simply the new wine vintage 2019! We must be in the place of abiding and receiving so we are ready for the giving and the praying.
The carrying power to see things through comes continually from our Father. We must be transformed so that we have our hearts filled with “yes God”, and the idea of giving up or surrendering in the battle is no longer an option. My the fresh wind of heaven blow on your heart! Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen. If the beginning of 2019 finds you hungry and thirsty, now if the time to be filled with living water- the wine of heaven and with the food that only the Father can give! Bless the Lord and forget not ALL of His benefits!

With Intensity!
Acts 12:5-11 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were [c]keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”
What if a part of the prayer dynamic is that the response to the need is at least partially dependent on the intensity of the prayer? In Acts 12, Herod has begun to harass the church and clearly has bad intentions toward the apostle Paul, but the church would have none of it and maintained a posture of constant (intense) prayer. Their intensity in prayer led to the dispatch of an angel and the miraculous deliverance of Paul from the king. What if they had been passive and re-signed that the governing authorities were too powerful them? Would this story in Acts have had a different ending?
We are living in an hour when the Father will reveal himself to a lost and fatherless generation. We must not, we cannot lose heart. It is a time for the fire of intense prayer to grow continually brighter and hotter. Intense prayer leads to the release of angelic forces, chains to be broken, light to shine in to darkness, captives released from prison and the good news to be extended no matter what the circumstances.
Opposition appears to be increasing, the good news of Jesus is maligned, and yes there is resistance. Yet Father has made it clear that His miraculous deliverance is available and ready to be released. Are we praying with the intensity necessary to release the power that is desperately needed? Are we letting the Father have his way to set lesser things aside in our hearts to make us hot? Ephesians 3:30 says clearly that our Father is able to who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. It’s time. Today is the day. May the fire of God be released afresh on warriors everywhere!

- May the intensity of your passion be increased
in our hearts, and may that passion be expressed in prayer on fire! Luke 18:7 And will not God bring about
justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep
putting them off?

Pray with wisdom in regard to the Mueller investigation and that the purposes of heaven would be accomplished and not the purposes of men.
- We declare Life! This is the day; this is the time for us to agree with heaven concerning the precious lives of the unborn. Declare Ezekiel 21:27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him!

Not Against Flesh & Blood
Ephesians 6:12-13 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Post-election, and going forward, we must remember that the war are engaged in, is not against flesh and blood! The things that people we encounter believe and the words coming from their mouths are the result of the evil one having an open door into their minds and the results are deceit and destruction. The darkness in people’s hearts and minds need to meet the prayerful encounter of the people of God who are filled and over flowing with his eternal word and the one sent to help us-the Holy Spirit. There are indeed people with overflowing bank accounts who are in this day committed to believing and spreading evil, and yet our heavenly Father has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; and the weak things of the world to shame the strong. The day is coming when the lies will be burned up and the resources that have been stored up by those who are opposed to God’s purposes will be released to the righteous.
At this moment our eyes are on Him our Lord and Savior! So what are the important things at this moment? 1. We need Him, and we abide in Him. We are washed by his word and His word dwells in us richly! 2. Be fully covered with His armor and prepared to use the weapons of our warfare. Be ready to share the testimony of God’s power in saving you and have your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. 3. Be filled to overflowing with Holy Spirit. 4. Pray without ceasing. We have no time for the lies of the devil, and we will overcome him by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony, that is we continually testify as to what the power of blood of Jesus has and is doing! Jesus our great Lord who has overcome all things, and has all authority is working us and through us to accomplish His mighty purposes in the earth.

The Red Wave
As we approach the midterm elections there is much talk of a red wave or a blue wave. It is very important that we maintain our place of prayer before the Lord, and that our perspective is coming from Him. It is clear with the election of Donald Trump and the selections of Supreme Court justices Gorsuch and Kavanagh that something significant has begun to happen in the United States. A shift is taking place and we must remain sensitive before our heavenly Father to pray and declare what we are sensing in the spirit and what is being revealed through His word. Will these elections bring a red wave politically? We have been crying out before the Lord for the restoration of our nation, for integrity in government, and for just laws and decisions. We are anchored in Him, and the promise of his word in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Is the red wave coming? The answer is yes it has and yes it is. The red wave has been coming forth from the moment that our Lord and Savior shed his blood on the cross, the red wave continues in each generation and even into this day as we His children and his servants declare the power of His precious shed blood.
Revelations 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Simply said as we testify and declare the power of his blood we are over coming satan and his hold in our nation and even in the earth.
1 John 5:6-8 This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness [b]in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.
Colossians 1:20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
The red wave of his victory on the cross continues as we pray in this hour. The power of His blood has not diminished in the slightest and so we boldly declare the work and the power of the blood over individuals, in government, and in the other seven mountains of authority. We overcome n this red wave- the red wave of His precious blood!

- Stand in prayer for the upcoming elections. May the Lord raise up his servants at all levels of government. Take time to be educated about those running for public office. May we be as wise as serpents, but as gentle as doves in the process (Matt 10:16). Many states have ballot proposals that should also be of deep concern to God’s people. We declare the power of the blood over the entire electoral process.
- Pray for wisdom and truth to guard every decision from the president, administration, and cabinet, especially concerning other nations and our relationships and dealings with them. Pray for wisdom and grace and divine protection surround the president, and his administration? Covering under Psalm 91. We declare the authority of heaven over all governing institutions (all in authority) and those who serve in them!

First of All
1 Timothy 2:1-4 First of all, I encourage you to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and prayers of thanks for all people, 2 for rulers, and for everyone who has authority over us. Pray for these people so that we can have a quiet and peaceful life always lived in a godly and reverent way. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior. 4 He wants all people to be saved and to learn the truth.
1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
This past week was difficult to witness. The process that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanagh was subjected to was grueling, disquieting and brought some of the worst of what has been sewn into our nation out into the open. A man who by most accounts is man of good character and of high qualifications has been disgracefully maligned and dragged through the mud. Much of the media reported what took place with the clear objective of aiding this man’s ruin.
There is another side to the story that will never be reported and likely will not be revealed until the end of days. That story is “first of all, I encourage you to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and prayers of thanks for all people, for rulers, and for everyone who has authority over us.” I believe many rallied in prayer for judge Kavanagh, for the senators, for the witnesses, the confirmation process and the nation. The stakes were high, the outcome uncertain, and God’s people prayed, and in the end Mr. Kavanagh was confirmed and now it’s time to follow up by continuing in prayer. The Lord is encouraging us to do it, he is hearing us when we do, and increasing our faith as we do it. So, just do it!
And if we need more why: 1. Prayer helps build and maintain a quiet and peaceful life. 2. Our prayers, intercessions and prayers of thanks for all people are good and pleasing to the Lord. 3. He wants all people to be saved and to learn the truth. So, when we get distracted or at least are not as focused as we maybe should be, may we quickly revert back to “first of all”, and in the end, thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord!

- Give thanks for the confirmation of Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanagh, Lord we release this candidate from any further demonic attack and accusation. We pray for the healing of our nation and that many hearts will be turned toward You
- Stand in prayer for the upcoming elections. May the Lord raise up his servants at all levels of government. Take time to be educated about those running for public office. Awaken the Dawn!
We are suspending the normal prayer format for the week to encourage participation in a national prayer gathering. On September 27-29 coinciding with the Feast of Tabernacles, ATD will be hosting tent city gatherings of worship, music, prayer, and gospel proclamation – simultaneously at all 50 state capitals and university campuses across America! Three Days. Millions of people. Day and night. Public outdoor worship, prayer, and the proclamation of the gospel, flooding our nation with the presence of Jesus. It will be historic!

Worship
John 4:23-24But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Ephesians 2:6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Zephaniah 2:11 The Lord will be awesome to them, For He will reduce to nothing all the gods of the earth; People shall worship Him, Each one from his place, Indeed all the shores of the nations.
Worship is not what we do as much as it is who we are. Personally, I find it very difficult to pray effectively apart from worship. There’s a lot in my head and I bet some of it might actually be useful to my Father, but worship begins and flows from our hearts right to Him and from Him back to us. The Lord calls His a house a house of prayer, but there is a whole lot of worship going on in that house “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”
As we worship the objectives of our prayer becomes refined or even re-defined. The presence of the Lord changes everything and the God we serve becomes really close and really big! He raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. We have the best seats in the house! What we thought we needed also becomes clear as we realize that we need Him.
The world we live in is addicted to many things. It would be very easy to recite a list of all the stuff. Our re-born spirits desire and even long for other things, much greater things. We worship Him because it’s in our new DNA, and as we do so we will want to be near Him and with Him more and more. In turn He will give us life, health, peace, vison, wisdom, perspective and all things that pertain to life and Godliness. Here we go! We are in the elevator and we are going up into heavenly places, and that’s where our prayer is going. Lord, we worship you!

Restoring Vision

2:1-2 Habakkuk 2:1-2 I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
Vision is powerful! Vision paints a picture that empowers those who receive it to run with focus, stamina, and purpose. As people of prayer we need our vision continually renewed through the Lordship of Jesus, His presence, word, and the power of the Holy Spirit. He will do it and as we abide in him our vision will grow and be refreshed!
So what does vision look like at this point in 2018? The focus here will not be on anything personal, but the larger overall picture that we are praying to impact. So here are some of those areas:
- His church: Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. There are few keys here including: a. loving our wives (husbands) like Jesus loved the church (his called out ones) b. a clean body of believer’s c. radiant, without stain, wrinkle or blemish, but holy and blameless. There is a lot in these statements, but let us pray with vision regularly for our local body and leadership.
- Our city: Jerimiah 29:7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Okay, so maybe you are not in exile in your city although some of you reading this may feel that way. Father we seek you for the peace and prosperity of our city, Lord we pray to you for it in every way for as it prospers we will also prosper! This promise can also be coupled with Jerimiah 29:11&12
- The United States of America: Isaiah 58 and 2 Chronicles 7:14 are foundational in this day. Isaiah 58:12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings. The country is in dire need of many things, but the most important thing is still Jesus above all, in all, and though all. We seek Him whole heartedly as not only the one who established the foundations, but as the one who will restore all things. (Deuteronomy 30:3-13 MSG)

In High School “A Tale of Two cities was required reading as a part of classical literature instruction. The opening line of this book by Charles Dickens begins with the line” it was the best of times’ it was the worst of times”. This same line could be used to describe the current state of things in the U.S. As faithful watchmen on the walls we must have a clear and focused picture from the Lord or our vision will become clouded by the fog of battle and we will be much less effective in the days ahead. Above all else in every situation, Jesus is Lord, and our God reigns! May we be released from any complacency, and fear, and may the fire of the Holy Spirit IGNITE us!
Our vision focus of this prayer encouragement is President Donald J. Trump. I’m sure all of you have already been praying for him on a regular basis. Again, we must see and declare that the living God is greater and mightier than any plan of the enemy and the continual attacks against the president. It is clear that the attacks against him and also the very foundations of the nation have been fierce and yet, praise God, they have been for the most part been defeated. Be clear the warfare continues and may be intensifying. Without Vision

Habakkuk 2:1-2 I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
Last Tuesday night was a very troubled night of sleep. Probably some of the turbulence was due to the large ice tea consumed in the late afternoon, but the greater portion was that the Lord had something to say. I think it was about 3:30 that I heard “My people are perishing without vision.” Immediately I began to meditate on what this meant, and how this is playing out in day to day life, and it is clear that the lack of scripturally grounded vision is having devastating consequences for our nation. We are living in a time similar to what is recorded in Judges 17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes. The KEY to restoration is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our personal lives, and in our nation.
The encounter of early Wednesday morning has led to some personal review and some writing in my personal journal. I want to make sure that as I bow before the Lordship of King Jesus that I have as clearly and as simply as possible set down my vision for the areas where my life is touching others and society in general to make sure that the vision is clear and strong. I foresee this also impacting prayer for our country etc., and it reignites the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14.
One thing that has become very clear is that revelation is not being set down plainly on tables so that the herald may run with it. The lack of vision has brought great confusion to our nation and it seems clear that many of the writers are actually contributing to the confusion. May Father have mercy on our media and the rebellious and contentious way that “reporting” is being accomplished. In the next few weeks we will be re-defining our SLG prayer vision. It is hugely important that we have inspired vision in this day. May the Lord help us as we re-define and re-fire.

Boldly Declare!
Job 22:28 “You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways. (Amplified)
1 Corinthians 3:9 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
As believers we have important standing in our relationship with the Lord and authority and assignments with the Lord in the day in which we live. The power of intercession and declarations cannot be underestimated. The book of Job may sometimes be avoided in our study as it can be a bit of a downer, and yet it contains Gods truth and some real nuggets of instruction. “You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways.
If you are participating in the 30 day fast from the negative it is likely that you are noticing improved sharpness in the word, changes in thinking, changes in responses, and other positive improvements. We are becoming better armed and more ready to boldly declare, and boldly declare we will! In our daily walk we have the opportunity to sometimes plant seeds or water seeds, as with Paul and Apollos. As we pray and declare we are impacting the atmosphere in which Father’s purposes are taking place. Prayer helps prepares the ground, and affirms the power of the seed. We declare God’s word over the planted seed. We declare that the activity and growth of the good seed will flourish. Likewise we declare that bad seed will not proper and even be overtaken by the power of our Father’s seed. And so maybe our job description is that we are actually farmers.
Therefore we abide in him and in His love. He will help us to decide and decree a thing, and it will be established. For in the end, we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. Our great desire is for Jesus to glorified, and for His kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Boldly declare!

- The Supreme Court. Intercede for the Supreme Court nominee judge Brett Kavanagh. May the Lord protect him, surround Him and draw him near as he begins the confirmation process. We cry out for decisions made by the Supreme Court to be in line with your revealed will, and that your mercy and justice would prevail!
- Elections: We pray that the lord will raise up his servants in all areas of government. May the candidates that please him come forth through the primary process, and be affirmed in the fall elections.
- Pray for wisdom and truth to guard every decision from the president, administration, and cabinet, especially concerning other nations and our relationships and dealings with them. Freedom from the Negative
Isaiah 6: “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”
Psalm 19:14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
We have all heard the expression “garbage in, garbage out”. May be you have also experienced a moment where you were very aware to a degree of the grief that Isaiah experienced in chapter 6 as he recognized that he was “a man of unclean lips, and lived among a people of unclean lips”. My point here is simply that if you live in the United States in 2018 the atmosphere, news reporting and daily discourse has become extremely negative. The negativity has an effect on everyone and we are not immune from the effects of being daily bombarded as believers. The great thing is that we can free ourselves from negativity and in the process become more sensitive of the negative and develop new defenses from negative words, thoughts and actions.
For me personally this has led me to the place where I will be fasting for the next 30 days from negative influences and in turn allowing the Holy Spirit to bring the cleansing, and re-working of my heart and mind. I am totally convinced that the Lord is prompting me to enter into this time of freedom from the negative and immersion in His love and the power of His word as the antidote to the negative. Maybe you are in a similar place? If so, attached to this week’s encouragement is an outline which will help in the process of entering into this time of being washed clean from negative influences. Maybe beginning today is not the right time for you. If you feel the prompting in your heart that you need participate in the 30 day fast of freedom then determine your own timeframe for participation. The big thing is to do it and not let the need to be free from negative influences pass by. I believe this will be life changing, and will greatly influence our ability to pray more effectively. Thank you Father for what you have provided to us in your Son.

30 Day Release from Negativity Fast
Most studies show that if applied correctly, any habit can be formed in 30 days. Fasting from negativity can develop more hopeful patterns and habits in your life, providing you commit to this daily process faithfully. Many times to see change, we need to detoxify our thinking and speaking to become lined up with love, hope and faith.
In this fast, we are detoxing from all negative habits and relational patterns. We are not only abstaining from negativity, we are setting aside more time in our lives to feed on hope-filled perspectives that increase our ability to walk in love and powerful faith. So if you want to join me, here are the guidelines for the negativity fast I am proposing.
30 Days of Abstaining From:
- Talking about situations and people with a negative viewpoint.
- Pessimistic expressions about people and circumstances.
- Critical talk about ourselves and others.
- Complaining of any kind.
- Negatively gossiping about others.
- Using sarcasm to hide our negative and bitter views.
30 Days of Intentionally Focusing On:
- Meditating on God’s love and goodness.
- Meditating on and speaking out thanksgiving and praise.
- Declaring who God is and who God says that you are.
- Speaking life, love and hope to ourselves and others.
- Speaking solutions and calling forth answers to problems.
- Focusing on what God is doing and bringing it up in conversation.
Practical Application:
- To make this negativity fast effective, here are some practices to help make it a transformational experience.
- Start and end every day with thanksgiving and personal declarations. (Have a written list of things you need to say over yourself to establish who God says that you are in your heart.)
- Abstain from watching, listening to or reading media that fosters negativity, including: news, commentators, political forums, social platforms that criticize anyone.
- If you use social media, for these 30 days, use it to bless and encourage people every day. No criticizing or clicking “like” to critical or negatively biased posts.
- During hard times, its ok to cry and have tender emotional moments. But we will not add any negativity (hopelessness, discouraging talk, self-pity, victim) with our words and actions during it.
- Each time you are tempted to be critical of someone, immediately pray blessing for them. This will push the enemy back much quicker
- Be intentional to not let negative people dictate the atmosphere when they are with you. You may need to take some time from those who have had an overtly negative influence in your life.
- Practice forgiving people quicker. Pray blessing over those who get on your nerves.
- Spend time laughing every day. Find comedy genres to watch and friends to interact with who will make you laugh from the belly.
- Bless every place you go to (Stores, homes, meetings, etc.) with hope.
- Do not criticize others for being negative. That defeats the purpose of this fast. Not everyone may be where you are at with this.
Fuel for Meditation (develop personal prayer as you meditate on the word)
- Psalm 1:1-3 How well God must like you— you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon, you don’t slink along Dead-End Road, you don’t go to Smart-Mouth College. Instead you thrill to God’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. You’re a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month,
- Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Foundational Truth
1 Corinthians 3:9-11 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.
Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
Is the United States a Christian nation? I hear the question asked often asked, and strenuously debated. Periodically I look back to observe what our founders believed and what they were saying at the birth of the nation. I find their words to be very affirming and their faith at the earliest moments of the new country to be an example to us who now walk in their footsteps. Having looked and looked again, I see their strength of conviction that this nation would be established upon a foundation of Jesus Christ and the word of truth that is set forth in scripture and that our heavenly Father is to this day writing on human hearts. So, I say yes, yes, yes, this and even
The founding fathers were very clear in their intentions and what they have given us in our constitution and our governing institutions and the goal of their brilliance is the establishment and protection of God ordained liberty. This is encapsulated in one sentence “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Like a baton being passed in a relay it is our time in the race, and we need to run with endurance with our eyes fixed at all times on the one who will help us. We need Him, oh how greatly we need Jesus. May the Lord continue to clarify our vison for this nation as we stand, affirm and welcome His mighty hand upon us. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.

Father
Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy habitation
Romans 8:15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
I will be dating myself as I write this week’s prayer encouragement, which is totally okay if the point is made clearly and is gives strength to your heart. So, here we go. As a child I remember T.V. shows like “Leave it to Beaver”, “Father Knows Best”, and “Make Room for Daddy”. These programs were honoring of fathers and cast fathering, and the place of fathering in a positive light. Make Room for Daddy was the last of these shows to end production leaving the air in 1965.
Any of these programs would no longer be aired today and in the climate of 2018 would be treated with scorn for the stereotyping of women, the image of fathering, the depiction of family, and a list of other things. My intention is not to analyze these programs but is simply meant to magnify how we as a nation have intentionally and unintentionally maligned both men and fathering. We are now reaping the harvest of over thirty years of treating fatherhood and fathers as the worn out dinosaurs of a patriarchal society which is both progressing and evolving into something much more enlightened. Except it is not, and the “evolved” version of the family has also left its scriptural foundation and in the process is also undermining the Fatherhood of the living God. Everywhere we see a fatherless generation simultaneously crying out for daddy and undermining daddy. People are developing a strange form of emotional and spiritual schizophrenia. The huge question of the day is both who’s your daddy, and where is your daddy?
The good news in this mess is that we have the answer and we are the answer. As we pray our Father is treating us as sons and he not give us a stone when we ask for a loaf. We are standing in the place of “everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” We are crying out for the now expression of His Fatherhood, His ongoing fathering, and as we walk day by day as redeemed sons and daughters we release His Fathering touch. Abba Father we lift you up! Abba Father you are the healer of broken hearts! Abba Father you are a Father to the fatherless! It is you Abba, we are in great need of You!

Connected to Love
Romans 5:3-7 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
As we engage in prayer it is very important that we engage continually with our Father. Our growth in Him will make this more and more the central part of our relationship, but there are times where we become busy or distracted and we must re-focus. The word of God warns us that “because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matt 24:12). We are exhorted to keep out eyes fixed on him and even more our heart must be fixed on Him. We know from experience that our hearts can be pretty leaky and vulnerable to insensitivity. The Holy Spirit who is our helper has our backs on this as God’s love is poured out into our hearts through Him.
Love is the key. Knowing the love of the Father will help us to pray in ways that we in our selves simply would not see. In his love we have Ephesians 1:18 connection “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,” Deep within our hearts the light is on and the understanding that only the Father can give is penetrating us. We have help from the best source, the greatest source, a source filled with love and mercy and understanding. We are connected to love!

- SPECIAL PRAYER EMPAHSIS, The North Korean Summit: We declare theprotection and covering of the most high over both leaders, all support personnel, the meeting place etc. We declare the release of angelic helpers into the region. We release the wisdom of the most high and declare “your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. May this be a day when the mighty presence of the Lord is released, a season of shift and change into the nations of the region and even the whole earth.

Royal Preisthood
Psalm 110:3 (AMP) Your people will offer themselves willingly [to participate in Your battle] in the day of Your power; In the splendor of holiness, from the womb of the dawn, Your young men are to You as the dew.
Ester 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
We are involved in ministry each day. The change that is growing inside of our hearts as those who pray is not that we are forced to pray, but we are glad to pray. We look into God’s word and even more it looks into us, asking us to trust and believe. Our hearts are becoming strengthened with the knowledge that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. This is our time, and this is our hour to become mighty in prayer and to see the purposes of the Father carried forward in our day.
As in the days of Ester we cannot remain silent. Relief and deliverance may arise from another place but it is our destiny in this hour to call forth the Father’s relief and deliverance for our generation. The word makes it clear that we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s special possession. We know that we have been brought into our royal position for such a time as this. We worship Him, we declare His promises, and we stand in and release His light into the darkness! We know the darkness cannot over take the light. We are in a place of love and delight before the Lord and filled with the desire to see his purposes coming forth. We are His royal priesthood!

- Pray for renewal of God’s people in their priestly calling. May the Lord reveal and clarify in his people their place before Him as priests and releasers of His purposes into the Earth. Your kingdom come, your will be done on Earth as it is in in heaven!

A Kool-Aid Story
John 7:37-38 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.
Anyone who has been on a mission trip in a foreign country recognizes that there are certain things you must be a careful of as you travel in these places. Having been in Guatemala and Mexico I know to have an up to date pass port and that there may be certain vaccinations required prior to entering the country. There are also some things you learn only by actually making the trip.
Mission trips in Guatemala have occurred in some fairly remote villages. Most of the ministry takes place one to one with widows who usually have one of more children. The material poverty present in the lives of these women would soften the hardest heart and inspire a deep desire to lift them up. Usually these fatherless families are living in a physical structure that is hardly a structure at all and certainly no real protection from the elements or even a wild animal. Small houses are built to provide the family with a warm and dry dwelling.
Upon completion of the small home the group prays for the woman her children and a basket of household items are presented. These small acts of kindness are met with immense gratitude on the part of the woman who receives them, and in turn they desire to provide a simple way of saying thank you. This act of gratitude many times includes preparation of a pitcher of powered drink mix to share with the team of house builders. Usually following the physical exertion of the work the team is both tired and thirsty and the grape, cherry or orange Kool-aid would usually be welcomed. It would taste really good and possibly be momentarily satisfying, but those who travel on these short term trips are strictly warned not to drink the Kool-aid because to do so would quickly prevent them from any further involvement in ministry to the people they came to serve. There is nothing wrong with the drink mix, it is Kool-Aid, the problem is the water used to mix the drink which is full of all kinds of microbial bad stuff that could make the consumer quite ill. At the dedication of the house each team member receives a glass of the liquid and then carefully and discreetly discards the beverage never consuming even one small mouthful. The joy of the moment is not lessened, but the mission trip volunteer is saved from days of intestinal misery and a possible trip to the hospital.ac
Short term mission trips are a life changing experience, but ministry happens each and every day whether here or abroad. In this day the U.S. is difficult mission field, but a very needy mission field just the same. It is clear that there a lot of Kool-Aid drinking taking place and as I write this I don’t use the Kool-Aid metaphor in a disparaging way, but simply as a way to describe this situation based on prior experience. What I see is people who have or are going through deeply hurtful situations. These folks are in turn inviting others to drink from the cup of their pain. I heartily encourage the support and compassionate care of someone who has suffered wrong, I’m just not sure that drinking the same bad stuff that person is drinking does anything to bring healing. I’m pretty sure that drinking this Kool-Aid will make anyone who partakes as sick as the person they’re trying to help.
It is clear we need to drink, and drink and drink, and Jesus invites us come to Him to drink living water which continually satisfies. May our desire be to receive such an infilling that we are an immediate extension of the Lord’s life and love to everyone we meet. We must avoid the Kool-Aid of bitterness, division, gossip, slander, hatred, and the list goes on. Living water contains life, healing water is filled with healing. We may not be sure what is in the Kool-Aid, but wise missionaries, and intercessory warriors avoid drinking it. When it is offered to you, just smile and say no thank you.

Pray for wisdom and grace and divine protection surround the president, and his administration? Covering under Psalm 91. Continue to intercede for North Korea and the possible summit.

Unity
Ephesians 4: 3-6 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Colossians 1:16-18 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
I find movies to many times be prophetic in both their message and imagery. This weekend we were finally able to view the film “Darkest Hour”. The people of Great Britain were at a crossroads in whether the countries leadership would attempt to negotiate peace with the Germans or make a stand against Hitler and all that he represented. Thankfully at just the right time a leader rose up with the necessary resolve to see the people of great Britain through their “Darkest Hour” In his speech before the house of Commons on June 4, 1940 Winston Churchill implored
“We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.”
This became a unifying message to the British people that brought them together in a common bond of resistance against a common and clear enemy. From the words of that speech a deep resolve was birthed in the people to rise up against the spread of tyranny that they were now witnessing and to overcome it no matter the cost.
In this day “we the people” are fractured and in disarray as to what the threats of the day actually are and once identified how we gather the resolve to overcome them. It is a good thing that we have the rightful king of all ruling in our hearts. It is clear more than ever that our battle is not against flesh and blood, and yet our common enemy is bold shameless and at work in our day. We rally ever more to “keep the bond of unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” It is our unity in peace as believers that will give us strength and continued resolve to rest in and declare His promises until every work of the enemy is defeated. The day is fast approaching when the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. Today as believers we rest in unity and we stand in the exhortation of Revelations 12:11 They triumphed over him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

The God of All Grace!
1 Peter 5:10-11 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Romans 5:15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more
The total place of peace is resting in the total grace of our heavenly Father. So what is this grace that we live in each day? One of the best definitions of grace, and one that begins to encompass who our Father is towards us is “to bend or stoop in kindness to another as a superior to an inferior. That’s pretty good and it begins to give us a way to understand His ways except, although we may feel some times very small or even inferior, our Father simply does not treat us that way. It’s true but we never feel that way because His greatness is always filled with an even greater kindness. When the word says that He is love it is totally true and His love touches everything.
As we live each day in His grace we are being perfected, established, strengthened, and settled. His grace is a continual reminder that “He who began the good work will be faithful to complete it”, and in the moments when we feel really incomplete in flows the grace! In those times when we may feel dry and weary, and even disconnected there is grace. “For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!” It’s overflowing, His grace towards us is overflowing! It’s not just enough, it’s overflowing, flooding, filling, impacting all things. As we pray, we pray in that overflow. What an amazing Father we serve!

The Power of the Name!
Philippians 2:8-11 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
John 14:13-14 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
What’s in a name? Maybe you have been in a situation where the mention of a person’s name opens a door. Because you knew John Smith or Mary Adams the situation you were presented with became much easier, and much more accessible. I remember a time when I was a boy when our family went on a vacation to Niagara Fall Canada. My uncle George was Canadian and had extended family that lived in Niagara Falls. The first day of the vacation we went to visit a man by the name of Edd Masters who was some kind of well-known civic official in the city. He presented my father with family passes to the wax museum, and some other attractions including a pass to operate the lights on both the Niagara and American falls. He told us that the passes would provide us with free admission to these places and that if there was any question about them to let the person in charge know that they were provided to us by Edd Masters. We enjoyed a wonderful time in the city and it seemed the name Edd Masters was almost magical as it opened many doors for our young family.
I look back on this now as a picture the Lord was providing for me at a young age to SEE that there is truly power in a name. This was the through the name of an earthly man with limited authority, and yet his measure of authority was enough to open doors that would have otherwise remained shut. How much more the name above all other names! In John 14:13-14 Jesus brings into a very personal guarantee. “Whatever you ask in my name I will do it”, and to make sure that we get the message a few words later, “if you ask anything in My name, I will do it”. I know that my Lord is not a liar. I know that EVERY time I come to Him and ask in His name that something is happening. I know that even as I write this message of encouragement that He is drawing me into a deeper place where my trust in the one who tells us to pray in his name is increasing. We believe first, we trust second, and in the third phase of the process we see what we are asking for come to pass. It may be a bit of a wait, and it may not look like we expected, but our God is answering.
Hearkening back to my memories from Niagara Falls, I remember lighting both the American Falls and the Horse Shoe falls entirely in green because green was my favorite color. We are now in spring and daily we witness the plants turning to green as they are once again filled with new life. May Father fill us with new life, faith and confidence that we are daily stirring the answers to impossible situations. May there be a fresh greening of your faith this week as you abide in His presence. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it!

Never Surrender!
Tenacious: 1tending to keep a firm hold of something; clinging or adhering closely. Synonyms: firm, tight, fast, clinging. 2 not readily relinquishing a position, principle, or course of action; determined. Synonyms: steadfast, untiring, unwavering, unswerving, persevering, persistent, determined, dogged, strong-willed, tireless, unshakable, unyielding, insistent, indefatigable, resolute, patient, unflagging, staunch.
Luke 18:1-6 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’” Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
There is something that our heavenly Father desires to build into our character. As I was praying this week it became clear that the Lord was saying to be tenacious. I hope that also resonates in your spirit. I know that my father wants a great measure of His own steadfastness to abide in my heart. That we would pursue Him and his answers, tirelessly, doggedly, not readily relinquishing a position, principle, or course of action!!!
In the recent movie “Darkest Hour” Winston Churchill must inform the people of Great Britain of the dire situation of the day, while simultaneously calling forth national courage to persevere in the face of a potentially disastrous outcome. In his address to the House of Commons he declares the following “We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender,
Sometimes it seems as though movies etc. can be gifts that arrive at just the right moment, and to convey just the right message. Although we battle to enforce the greatest victory ever won, may we encourage each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer (Hebrews 10:25). We will be steadfast, and we shall never surrender!

But, You’re in Christ
John 15:4 Abide in me, as I in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must abide in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in me.
Luke 10:38-42 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
As I am writing one of our yellow labs is laying with his head on my feet. He is the picture of contentment and peace. His desire to be near to us is both heartwarming and a continual reminder of how much he trusts us.
I have no desire to over simplify things, but Holy Spirit seems to be reminding me via our yellow lab that I need to come lay at the feet of Jesus. As we pray and also live life each day we can quickly find that we have taken burdens, perspectives, and possibly hurts into our hearts that the Lord has no desire for us to carry. It seems that as we lay at his feet we receive better things, things that will not be taken from us. How sweet is it that in the midst of our desire to do for the Lord, He is quietly reminding us that we can come just be with Him. No agenda, no list, simply a desire to be really near and to sit at his feet. Whatever our circumstances, no matter the challenge, we need to continually know we are in Christ.
The world we live in needs Jesus. We have Him to share, and as His presence in us increases may we release more of His fragrance into the world around us. May His fragrance permeate everything we do! So, as we pray we abide, we trust, we live life through Him, and we remain in a place where we will bear fruit. We have chosen the better thing, and it will not be taken from us. Amen!

Guide Me in Your Ways
Psalm 25:8-12 Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, Lord, your great
mercy and love, for they
are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your
love remember me,
for you, Lord, are good. Good and upright is
the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his
ways. He guides the humble in what
is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and
faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
For the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is
great. Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. They will
spend their days in prosperity, and their
descendants will inherit the land. The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant
known to them.
Once upon, a few years ago I had the privilege of being a boy scout, and was a member of a really focused, successful troop. The leadership was exceptional, and the scout master outstanding! If you listened, were teachable and available, there was much you could learn that was valuable then and is still valuable today. Mapping, tracking, the use of a compass, basic information about the stars were all imparted and still remembered as valuable lessons.
As I entered my teenage years, became rebellious, and kind of a know it all, I left the scouts, entered the wrong path, and began running on the road to destruction. Thankfully at just the right time the Lord called to me and let me come to Him. I am thankful at this very moment for His mercy, His cleansing, and His lovingkindness!
With the passing of years comes some wisdom. I appreciate the wisdom that I possess, and desire more of what Father has to show me/us. It is clear in this day that we need wisdom. As in the scouting days, listening, teachable, and available, and so now I stand in agreement with David “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me”. Father, we cry out for you to guide us in your truth and show us your ways. We ask that You establish us in your ways. Father we humble ourselves before you and as we do we trust that you will guide us in what is right, and teach us your ways. WE thank you that you confide in those who fear you and you will make your covenant known to us. We declare your promises over our families, over our communities and over this nation. Amen!

Life & Death
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
James 3:10-12 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.
Isaiah 6:5 So I said: “Woe is me,
for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the
King,
The Lord of hosts.”
Isaiah recognized it and we see it too, we are people of unclean lips living in a world of unclean lips. It is not difficult to be aware of the problem; the hard part is what to do about it. Therefore I have a proposal for the people of prayer which will be clarified by the end of this short word of encouragement.
Our day to day lives are in GREAT need of washing. Dirt is being slung everywhere. The conveyance of the news of the day is now mixed with personal opinion, salacious details, and attacks of character and motivation. If the message is unpopular the messenger is to be destroyed. This is type of discourse if now also carried heavily via social media, and has become a daily barrage of torpedoes in the water of life, sometimes on target and many times not, but still releasing the same destructive force in random acts of atmospheric pollution. This needs to change. The people of God in the fear of the Lord, and under the cleansing power of the blood can affect this smog of perverse speech.
Once again we need to recognize the source of this evil as none other than the father of lies, and the one who motivates and stirs up discord among the brethren. It is time for us to be fully aware of his tactics and put an end to this pernicious assault. So, here is the proposal; What if we use the next 30 days to fast our tongues? 1. I am offering myself once again as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to my heavenly Father, with special emphasis on my tongue. 2. Let’s ask the Lord for fresh sensitivity to speech that is not acceptable to Him, and let’s daily, as we come to pray, ask for forgiveness as needed to the depths of our hearts. 3. As we pray the Lord may reveal those who we have wronged with our words and we may need to ask them for forgiveness. 4. It may be appropriate to enlist the help of those closest to us to let us know when our words become negatively charged and lacking in life. 5. May Holy Spirit help us through the day to watch over the words we speak and repent as needed to be transformed in to declarers of life! If you feel the Holy Spirit tugging at your heart in this area, draw into the Lord in FAITH, believing that you will be transformed, and our impact in prayer increased

Revisiting Psalm 23
Psalms 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in
green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He
leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with
me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You
prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell[a] in
the house of the Lord
Forever.
The word of God is always good. Sometimes we have read or heard a scripture so often that it can become stale, it is longer fresh bread. Over the past week the Lord led me to the 23rd Psalm. It became a place of meditation and a confession back to the Lord, that he truly is what He says he is for me, and for you.
- The Lord is our good shepherd, and we rest and abide in His goodness.
- Because He is good shepherd in the way He cares for us, we are not in want. His provision is right there.
- His desire is to lead us to lie down in green pastures, and beside still waters. There is food and drink in abundance in the care of our good shepherd.
- He restores my soul. There is a condition of life and health that the shepherd desires for us and under his care He will restore it. If we are weary, and burdened, he will unyoke us from the heavy burden, and will place his yoke once again on us, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
- If we are encountering a dark place, our shepherd will keep us from fearing evil, because He is with us! Remember the enemy goes around like a lion seeking someone to devour, yet our shepherd is the Lion of Judah and He has already defeated the one who attempts to impersonate a lion.
- Sometimes it may seem that we are alone in the presence of enemies, and it is there He sets a table with everything we need. We are never far from the care of the good shepherd.
- He anoints our heads with oil, our cup overflows. As the good shepherd He is aware that we have a tendency to leak Holy Spirit, so we are continually in a way that our heads are anointed with oil until our cup or our inner man overflows. WOW!
- His mercy and goodness follows us where ever we go, and in the end He is leading us to His house to dwell with Him forever!

Life
Psalms 82:2-4 How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked? Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.
James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
WE are thankful, yes totally grateful for ALL our Father has done and is doing. As David said “my heart is overflowing with a noble theme, as I recite my composition concerning the King” As our hearts are overflowing with thanksgiving we will dwell in his presence and we recognize that we rest under His safety and love. In this place Father will open our eyes to issues that are ungently on His heart.
For 46 years the destruction of unborn children has been allowed to continue in our land. All of you reading this have no doubt been in anguish over the issue of abortion. We have entered into a season where the unjust court decision of Roe vs Wade will be struck down and the curse of death and murder broken from our land. It is time for our hearts to be renewed in faith that the days of the horrific practice will end and the innocent, weak, and helpless will be saved.
Father has released fresh vision concerning abortion through an organization called Moraloutcry. I encourage to go to the website www.nccclansing.org (recent sermons 1/28/18) to hear the vision shared of how this is beginning to come about. Abortion has never been legal in the courts of heaven and neither should it be legal in the courts of Earth. The day has come for this terrible law to be struck down. Be encouraged that your cries before the Father are being heard. His will be done, his kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.

How many of you remember the wave of the 90’s where the church was asking “What would Jesus do?” It was a good question although I have a close friend who always rephrases this expression to say “Do what Jesus Did!” As I have been praying and seeking the Lord this past week another one of these loaded phrases has come into my heart “What did David know” or possibly a better way to say it would be “Know what David knew”. I believe that there is a reason why Psalms s the longest book of the bible in terms of chapters, because Father clearly stated that David was a man after his own heart and his wisdom preserved in the Psalms is something that will greatly help us!
Do you ever have moments when you are grinding your gears mulling over something that is bothering you only to wake up to the reality that the answer is not in us, or in the hills, but that our HELP comes from the Lord! Our call is to seek Him, because the answer is with Him, and answer us He will. Bless the Lord!

The Spirit of Addiction
1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be enslaved by anything.
Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
Like 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
In 1975 the Lord absolutely set me up for a deeply life changing adventure. A good friend had been encouraging me to move to Monterey California to play bass guitar with him and a very talented vocalist. In the fall of that year I left Michigan with another guitar playing friend and made the long trip to the west coast. I was totally unaware that my heavenly Father had a different set of plans for the move, but as a baby believer in the Lord I was pretty much oblivious to such things.
Arriving in Monterey we immediately moved in with our buddy who was living in a Christian men’s house. The house was headed up by a young couple who were strong, loving, and had significant testimonies of the Father healing and deliverance. This was especially true for Jim, the husband who had been hopelessly addicted to heroin, spending some significant time in a Colorado prison where he meet the Lord, and was set free from heroin. I remember him so clearly telling me that “apart from Jesus there was no way to really break the addiction to heroin.”
As we had no way to support our selves we were quickly recruited to become part of a crew that worked nights at a nice hotel setting up banquets and meeting rooms. Enter the banquet crew boss whose name was Richard, who was a friend of Jim’s, and was also a former heroin addict and fellow inmate. Richard was a pretty amazing boss, with great people skills and an ability to manage unskilled, totally green rebels. As we worked together we learned that Jim and Richard were pretty much lifelong best buddies, and also that while Richard had been set free from heroin he had not surrendered to Jesus.
A few days later while driving the hills of Monterey our monster Buick suffered a significant break down. That night at work one of the guys on the crew heard of our problem and told us he could repair the car which we towed to his house. The next afternoon we began repairs tearing apart the top of the engine. After a couple of hours working on the car, I need to pay a visit to the bathroom. Entering the small house I recognized my boss Richard exiting the bathroom, and as he approached me he was rolling down his sleeve. He looked at me for a second or two with a glazed look saying “I’ve just got to get my jolt” as he walked out the door. It is hard to describe to this day the mixture of emotions that slammed my heart at that moment as I encountered for the first time, the spirit of addiction.
Now here we are in 2018 and addiction is destroying individuals at an alarming rate. Currently 90 Americans each day are dying of heroin over dose, and yet the opioid crisis is simply the most visible of the addictions. It is the Father’s heart and desire for all of His children to be set totally free through the saving grace and power of the blood of Jesus. Let us agree together as we stand under the covering of his blood that the spirit of addiction is broken!

Welcome to the Wall
1 Peter 2:4,5 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 62:6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent,
From the early part of the presidential campaign then candidate Donald Trump often spoke of the need to build a wall. The wall he was speaking of will be a barrier to prevent illegal entry into the United States. As intercessors we are able to see the wisdom of building a wall that will prevent those who would enter our home land without following the prescribed procedures, and especially for preventing those who intend to do us harm from entering. This wall will be a material structure with the height, width and strength to achieve the intended result of preventing illegal entry.
I believe that the call to build the wall has also been an announcement to the praying church to embrace more deeply than ever before the mantle of being his watchmen. As in the days of Nehemiah walls have been broken down and are in need of rapid restoration. May the Lord re-commission as we begin the new year to be the faithful ones with spiritual eyes opened and mouths declaring repentance and the restoration of the Lord. May the walls the Lord intends to be built move rapidly forward on our watch.
You also as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. A house is the place where a family is sheltered, nurtured, disciplined and raised up to become functioning members of the body and the larger society. Father has invested heavily in building a healthy functioning “spiritual house” which in turn helps to build healthy and functioning families. This is an important place to focus our prayer, first on the ultimate builder Himself, and then on the body of Christ, and the families and individuals who are, or will be the church. May the Lord grant us new and deeper wisdom in praying effectively for the continual strengthening and maturity of His spiritual house and the defense of, and clear vision of what it means to be a family, including the sacredness of being male and female, and what it means to be healthy functioning parent.
Prayer Points
- Draw into the Father. Pray with discernment over your local “spiritual house”, pray for families within your local body, community, state etc. May the sacredness of what Father intended in family be restored and defended.
- Let a heart of true Repentance fill us. 2 Chronicles 7:14 Take hold of the promise that we will be heard and that mercy and healing will touch our land. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord! Let us welcome the coming revival as it is released into the earth.

My Heart Trusts in You
Psalm 9:10 Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 13:4-6 my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.
Welcome to a new year. As we begin the New Year we have an opportunity to walk into the new by deepening our love and trust for the Lord. Trust is an important key to walking more closely with the Lord, and in any other relationship for that matter. Our heavenly Father desires to embrace us more deeply in His love and hold us in an ongoing place of trust. He will do as we choose to spend time with him and cultivate a place of intimate fellowship with Him. If this is our desire He will draw us into Himself.
Often I find myself drawn into the Psalms as these songs of David reveal much about His relationship with the Father, what was in His heart, and what was in the Father’s heart toward Him. As God calls David a man after His own heart the Psalms provide us with little glimpses of why this was so. As we follow the life of King David we recognize that there were many times the king failed miserably and yet He remained in the embrace of the Father, and even after a time of significant moral and/or leadership failure David trusted that the Father would forgive and restore Him. May we imitate His faith!
On the other side of trust we may have gone through an event, or experienced a relationship where our trust was severely damaged. Let the start of new year be a season where the deep love the Father is poured into your heart to repair the place of wounding. We may find that 2018 is year where our trust for Him becomes the gold, and the precious deepening source of our strength to stand, and pray, and as the psalmist writes “I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.”
